*** The following msgs were DL'ed from SWHQ, 1-810-473-2020, 1:2410/207...
Subj: U/L the CNet demo EVERYWHERE
From: Bill Beogelein (SysOp)
Orgz: CNet-BBS V3.05a Beta-Tester
On : Mon 7-Feb-1994 5:20p
I think more non-CNet SysOps are checking out the CNet-demo than we realize.
Everyone can help. Make it file-fequ'able on your system.
I use MagicNames "CNetDemo1" and "CNetDemo2".
> CNetDemo1 609K CNet-BBS v3.04 freely distributable demo. Disk #1 of 2. Jan94
> CNetDemo2 348K CNet-BBS v3.04 freely distributable demo. Disk #2 of 2. Jan94
If we all use the same MagicNames, more people will be able to find it. It
would be great if we could someday say, "Just file-requ CNetDemo1 and
CNetDemo2 from any one of ~1000 CNet-BBSs anywhere in the world." And get the
latest demo.
Also, U/L it everywhere. Add it into disk collections, CD-ROMs, FTP-sites,
etc.
Make it a "Free" D/L on your system. Make it available to first-time callers.
Add it to the "QuickDL.LHA" pfile list. With QuickDL.lha you can add a "DEMO"
cmd to any menu that D/Ls the demo. We could tell everyone in the world,
"Just call any CNet and type 'DEMO' at any prompt".
Post msgs in echos that a CNet-demo is *now* available. Add it to your
news-files. Log-in/log-out screens. Mention it in your Fidonet, Usenet, and
local msg signature-lines. Mention it in all your "zzzBBSad" archive files.
How many of the 10,000,000 users in the Internet know about it?
